Partnership with T.A.C.T.
About Us
Humanex Academy is an accredited, private, nonprofit school supporting 6-12 grade students diagnosed with Autism, learning disabilities, and social/emotional challenges. Our mission is to provide a small, supportive, and individualized educational environment that enables each student to find both academic as well as social/emotional success. Humanex is one of the few schools in the country that meets the needs of this population of students. To learn more, please visit: www.humanexacademy.org
Partnership Program with a Future
To expand our students’ experiences, we partnered with an organization called T.A.C.T. (Teaching the Autism Community Trades) over the past five years. Two to three days per week for three hours each time qualified Humanex Academy students learn skilled trades such as wood working, electrical, welding, and IT skills. Many of our alumni students have found employment after graduation from Humanex Academy plus the necessary trade skills they learned at T.A.C.T. To learn more, please visit: www.buildwithtact.org
Immediate Call to Action
Each year we had six students enrolled because they had secure grant funding but, unfortunately, the grant funding used to support Humanex Academy students is no longer available. Without immediate action our students will lose their place at T.A.C.T., face a 100 student waiting list to be accepted into the program as well as the need to find external funding sources to sponsor their T.A.C.T. tuition. In short, there will be no more T.A.C.T. opportunities starting Fall 2023! Our immediate call to action is to create a robust T.A.C.T. Scholarship Fund for our students.
Committed Sponsors
For the purposes of continuing our partnership with T.A.C.T. and uninterrupted enrollment of our students, we are looking for interested people, organizations, and businesses to help us raise money for the T.A.C.T. Scholarship Fund. The tuition for this program is currently $6,000.00 per student, per semester or $12,000 for one student for one school year. We recognize that this is a significant investment but one that will make the greatest difference in a student’s life.
